This is the route for the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana Gran Premi Banc Sabadell 2025
Stage 1 between Orihuela and Orihuela Playa will mark a VCV 20205 with two medium mountain stages, one high mountain stage and a final stage with up to five windy sections that can turn the final general classification upside down
Valencia. January 16, 2025. The Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana Gran Premi Banc Sabadell 2025 has released its route. A route marked by the team time trial of stage 1 in Orihuela, but that will have excitement until the end thanks to a stage 5 in which the strong Mediterranean wind could be very protagonist. In total, 665 kilometers divided into two medium mountain stages, a queen stage of high mountains, the team time trial and the peculiar final stage with finish in the Port of Valencia. All this, between the 5th and the 9th of next February.
The route of the VCV 2025 was presented this Thursday at an event held at the Petxina Cultural Sports Complex in Valencia. Francisco Benítez, sports manager of the organization led by the Valencian cyclist Ángel Casero, has been the main responsible for designing and explaining this route that will cross the three provinces of the Comunitat Valenciana. The event was attended by the President of the Superior Sports Council, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes; the Autonomous Secretary of Tourism, José Manuel Camarero; the General Director of Sports, Luis Cervera; the sports deputies of Alicante, Castellón and Valencia, Bernabé Cano, Iván Sánchez and Pedro Cuesta, respectively; and the Deputy General Manager and Eastern Territorial Director of Banco Sabadell, Fernando Canós.
The first stop will be in Orihuela. Seven editions later, the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana Gran Premi Banc Sabadell recovers the team time trial. One of the public’s favorites and a real attraction for the teams, which can thus have a first competitive test that will serve them well during the season. A 34-kilometer route between Orihuela and Orihuela Playa will leave a first leader of the race, who will thus become the great rival to beat in the following days.
The rest of the route of this VCV 2025 presents a succession of mountain passes where the chasers of the leader will have to prepare their strategy well if they want to unseat him from the first place. None of these mountain passes are leg-breakers, but the succession of them all can put more than one rider in trouble if the peloton decides to set the pace of the race.
The first opportunity for attack will come in stage 2 between La Nucia and the Alto de Partegat, in Benifato, still in the province of Alicante. A route of 166 kilometers with three mountain passes, Col de Rates, Alto de Benimantell and the unprecedented Alto de Partegat, almost at the end of a stage that will be nervous, selective and conducive to breakaways.
On Friday, February 9, the cycling caravan enters the province of Valencia and visits the first of the localities affected by the DANA. From Algemesí the peloton will set off for Alpuente in a 180-kilometer stage with the spectacular Pico del Remedio as the highlight 20 kilometers from the finish line. A contender for the overall could have in this stage his chance to climb to the top of the classification if he plays his cards right.

The 7th VCV Women’s Grand Prix Tuawa gets off to a fast start
The women’s race that takes place in parallel to the last stage of the VCV 2025 has a great novelty this year. The promotion of category to ProSeries, and that will make the level of participation is higher than in other editions. For this 7th VCV Féminas Gran Premio Tuawa, the cyclists will leave behind the mountains of the last two editions, having to face a purely strategic stage marked by the wind. The route will be the same as that of stage 5 of the VCV 2025 between Alfafar and Valencia, with the wind as a possible protagonist and judge of the final victory.
The DANA, very present in this edition of the VCV 2025
The 76th edition of the VCV – Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana Gran Premi Banc Sabadell will have the DANA very present. Before the tragedy, the starts of both Algemesí and Alfafar, and the passes through Benetúser, Massanassa, Catarroja, Albal and Beniparrell; were practically closed, and maintaining them has meant a great effort, especially for the localities, but also for the organization. However, all parties agreed on the importance of giving visibility to the area, of raising awareness of the need for aid to continue to reach the affected areas and, especially, of sending a message of recovery, hope and future, demonstrating that, however complicated the circumstances, you can always find a reason to move forward. At least, for a few hours, cycling fans in those affected areas will have a reason to disconnect from the hard day-to-day and see their idols on two wheels up close.
