The VCV – Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana will be very marked by the DANA. Even before the tragedy, stages 3 and 5 were scheduled to start from Algemesí and Alfafar respectively, two of the most affected towns. After assessing the situation, both towns and the organization of the VCV decided to go ahead to give visibility to what happened and to value the spirit of overcoming of the Valencian people. In addition, the VCV waived the usual economic fee that both towns had to assume to be the start or finish of one of the stages.
