The III ‘Pedal for the Planet’ of Tuawa by Global Omnium and the VCV consolidates itself as a benchmark of sustainability and sport in Valencia
The organization of the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana Gran Premi Banc Sabadell and Tuawa by Global Omnium brought together nearly 400 people of all ages in a sustainable walk through the Turia Garden.
Valencia. April 7, 2025. Nearly 400 people of all ages gathered on the morning of Sunday, April 6th, 2025 in the ‘III Pedal for the Planet’, the great sustainable event of family recreational character promoted by Tuawa by Global Omnium and the VCV – Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana. Thus, the event ‘Pedal for the Planet‘ has consolidated itself as a benchmark of sustainability and sport in the city of Valencia, bringing together in this third edition hundreds of participants committed to the environment in a festive day. The initiative, promoted by Tuawa, a young company of the Global Omnium group, specialized in sustainable water sources, and the organization of the VCV, have exceeded the expectations of attendance and participation.
The route, of circular and family character, has covered 10 kilometers along the old Turia riverbed, bringing together people of all ages and numerous families, cycling groups and lovers of sport in general and nature. This edition has had the outstanding participation of personalities from the world of cycling, such as Angel Casero (General Director of the VCV) or the Valencian cyclist Marta Romeu, winner of the jersey for best cyclist of the Valencian Community in the VCV Féminas 2024 Gran Premio Tuawa. In addition, different representatives of Valencian federations of other sports disciplines, as well as representatives of the business world aligned with sustainability have joined the event.
The ‘III Pedale for the Planet’ was inaugurated at the starting line by Dionisio García Comín, CEO of Global Omnium, together with Juan Monrabal, CEO of Tuawa, and the director of the VCV, Ángel Casero, who thanked the Valencian society for their presence and the great reception of this sporting event. All of them have reaffirmed the group’s commitment to sustainability, responsible mobility and sport as a tool for social transformation. In fact, all the participants in the cycling route wore the bib number ‘1’ because when it comes to defending the planet, everyone lines up in the first position.
The day also included children’s activities, a refreshment area, live music and raffles of sustainable products, on a sunny morning that brought together fun, sport and environmental awareness in the heart of Valencia. Five official jerseys of the last edition of the VCV 2025 were raffled among the participants, as well as a bike of the brand Rali.
Specifically, the yellow leader’s jersey signed by Santiago Buitrago; the mountain jersey signed by Jon Agirre; the best young rider’s jersey signed by Carlos Rodríguez; the best Valencian rider’s jersey signed by Joan Bou and the orange Tuawa regularity jersey, also signed by Santiago Buitrago, have been raffled.
