“It’s a very special victory for me. It’s great to start the season like this. The truth is that I believed in our chances, not only mine but of the whole team. We came here with the aim of getting good results and we have proved it at this stage. We did a great job in the last kilometres. My team-mates put me in a perfect position for the sprint. I want to thank them. I’m very happy for the victory and for my team-mates”.
“This victory was very important for me. Now we have to finish the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana strong and then other races like Tirreno, Milan San Remo, the classics, and then the Giro and the Olympic Games. There are many objectives this season but let’s take it step by step. Now it’s time to enjoy this victory”.

“This Saturday’s stage is a very important and tough one. There are 170 kilometres and 4,000 metres of positive climb. It’s an area that we know well because we’ve been training here all winter and let’s see if we can defend our position in the general classification. It’s going to be very tough but we’ll try to do our best”.
