Bétera is one of the towns in the province of Valencia with the greatest passion for cycling. It’s a meeting point for cyclists every weekend on their way to group rides, and it also hosts charity events like the AVAPACE March, which benefits people with cerebral palsy.
Agriculture has been the economic mainstay of this constantly evolving town, along with its business parks. Its location and quality of life have made it the third municipality with the highest per capita income, ranking 43rd nationally in the top 50.
Two events take center stage culturally in Bétera: the ‘coetà’ (fireworks display) and the traditional offering of ‘Les Alfàbegues’ (basil), both celebrated during the August festivities. In addition, the town boasts a rich cultural heritage with its archaeological sites, but culture also flourishes through music and various artistic expressions.
With the motto “Bétera Lives Sport” the firm commitment to all sports disciplines is demonstrated, highlighting the work of local clubs, placing Bétera at the top of the podium and prioritizing for the City Council a great sports offer for all citizens and the implementation of new investments in sports infrastructure.
Bétera has a wide range of accommodation options where the typical gastronomy of the area predominates, featuring local products such as broad beans, various rice dishes, and the typical and traditional sweets of the August Virgin Festival: “les orelletes i les coques fines”.
