Industry is diversified, with agricultural and food processing companies alongside logistics and the manufacture of agricultural machinery. Local commerce is supported by the economic development and promotion departments of the Carlet City Council.
Cultural life in Carlet revolves around two venues: the century-old Giner Theatre, with a capacity of over 800 people, and the El Siglo Theatre, a Cultural Heritage Site built in the 19th century and recently renovated. We mustn’t forget that popular pasodoble “Amparito Roca” was composed in Carlet. This year, 2026, marks the 100th aniversary of the city’s chárter, granted by King Alfonso XIII.
Carlet’s numerous sports associations are constantly active. From traditional sports like Valencian pilota or pigeon racing to more modern ones such as trail running, martial arts, basketball, athletics, badminton, or frontenis, among others, it’s easy to enjoy any sport in Carlet.
Two dishes stand out in the local cuisine. The first is “Coca Saginosa,” made with lard (the “sagi”), eggs, flour, sugar, and cinnamon. The second is “Sardinà”, a fried dish of sardines, peppers, onions, and eggs. It’s cooked in the same pan as paella and is traditionally eaten with bread and grapes.
