At the VCV

The Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana started for the first time in La Nucía last year. This year, we’re repeating the feat, starting from the same location. The Camilo Cano sports complex will once again be the starting point for the stage, offering comfortable facilities designed specifically for sports.

Cycling

La Nucía is a landmark in the world of cycling. In 2021, it hosted the Spanish National Road Cycling Championships, where Omar Fraile emerged victorious. It has also hosted stages of the Vuelta a España and is a popular location for World Tour teams to hold their preseason training camps, such as Tadej Pogačar’s UAE Team Emirates in recent years and Vingegaard’s Visma team in 2025.

Economy

La Nucía is a town with a service-based economy linked to tourism, and a large industrial park that serves the entire Marina Baixa region. It also has a food processing industry and several hotels, which have opened due to the high number of overnight stays generated by sporting events.

Culture

La Nucía is committed to culture and boasts a significant auditorium, seating 600 people, with a full program throughout the year featuring top national theater, zarzuela, dance, opera, concerts, and classical music. Like all Valencian towns, La Nucía’s band and choir provide musical training to hundreds of children each year, introducing them to the world of music.

Sport

La Nucía is known as the “City of Sport” thanks to a commitment that began more than 20 years ago and has garnered national and international recognition with awards such as the National Sports Award and the European Town of Sport awards. Its Camilo Cano Sports City is the prime example, boasting nearly 450,000 square meters of sports facilities.

Gastronomy

Despite its modernity and spectacular growth, La Nucía has not lost its customs and traditions, preserving its gastronomy. Typical dishes include “arrós cuinat” (a soupy rice dish with vegetables and pork), “les pilotes de dacsa” (a pot of cornmeal dumplings wrapped in cabbage leaves), and “minxos” (small pastries filled with vegetables, wild herbs, and salt), which are eaten fried or baked.
