Individual Time Trial take center stage on the 2026 Edition
The Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana has revealed the features of its 2026 edition. In February, time trialists will have the opportunity to demonstrate their best qualities on the route to their teams. It’s not common to see a time trial stage at the beginning of the season, but the VCV Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana continues to make a difference.
Over 15 kilometers of route
While the 2025 edition featured a team time trial, this time the riders will have the chance to compete individually. The stage will be approximately 15 kilometers long—not flat, but not in high mountains either. The final section of the stage will have a gradient that participants will have to take into account.
Teams will certainly have the chance to test specific equipment—not just bikes, but also wheels and helmets. Ángel Casero, director of the VCV Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana and a former specialist in this discipline, acknowledged: “I’ve always liked the idea of including a time trial stage, but organizing a race of this level is very complex. I’m sure the specialists are eager to know the details.
